Graduate Admissions : 

Israel BuildingWe are pleased that you have decided to consider Tulane University for your graduate study in chemistry. The bullets on the left hand side of the page provide information that should be useful to you in your consideration of Tulane and in completing the application process. We invite you also to take advantage of our quick decision process; you can receive notice within 7 days regarding conditional acceptance. Before looking at this material, here is some basic information about the Chemistry Graduate Program.

 

  • Send GRE Scores to the School of Science and Engineering, GRE Code (6173).
  • There are approximately 43 graduate students in the Ph.D. program as of January 2006. Students come from all over the United States (50% US) and from many foreign countries including China, India, Jamaica, Korea and Sierra Leone.

  • All graduate students are supported with assistantships and tuition waivers throughout the year.

Financial support for graduate students comes in several forms:

  • Teaching assistantships with an annual stipend anticipated to be $21,500+ for the 2007-08 academic year. Most entering students receive Teaching Assistantships and teach in the General, Organic or Physical Chemistry laboratories.

  • Research assistantships with the same annual stipend. Students receiving Research assistantships work in the laboratory of their faculty mentor and do not have teaching responsibilities.

  • Four Year Full Fellowships with an annual stipend of $25,000 sponsored by the Louisiana Board of Regents.  No teaching is required and the fellowships are guaranteed for four years provided the recipient is progressing well toward the degree. All applicants who are U.S. citizens are considered for a BOR fellowship.

  • COMPLETE A PRELIMINARY APPLICATION NOW AND RECEIVE WORD WITHIN 7 DAYS.

There is no application fee.
